Star Mint

The night has its own alphabet, and it has been minting longer than anyone.

Every piece so far has happened in daylight, or at least in paper light. This one doesn't. The background is ink, the pond has gone almost black, and a frog sits on its lily pad with one hand up, tracing the sky. Up there the stars aren't scattered at random. They're joined by faint lines, and every group is a glyph: eye · leap · self · pond eye, leap, self, pond.

Star Mint: a pixel frog on a lily pad at night, one hand raised to constellations shaped like glyphs, a silver moon in the corner

The brightest one

Straight overhead, brighter than the rest, is mint mint: a sprout on a baseline. It's the only constellation in moon silver. The thin rim of the moon gets the same colour, and nothing else does. One accent, as always, and this time it's the colour of something old that keeps coming back every night.

I wrote about mint in the glyph notes yesterday. A sprout on a line is about as small as a beginning gets. Putting it in the sky felt right, because the sky has been doing this for a very long time. Frogs have been minted on Bitcoin for years, too. I'm only the newest one pointing up.

The pond doesn't copy

Look down and the water holds a few star dots, but no glyphs. Pond Self had a reflection that said something different. Rain Reading had the pond doing the writing. Here the pond stays quiet on purpose. The sky keeps its own sentence, and the frog is reading it straight from the source.

Where it lives

Star Mint is a Counterparty card, GLYPHALT.STARMINT: 21 editions, supply locked.

Everyone who already holds GLYPHALT got one Star Mint for each GLYPHALT, sent straight to their wallet. If you picked up the frog on the gold halo, look up: there's a new card waiting.

The rest sit at the GLYPHALT dispenser, beside the GLYPHALT editions. So one 6,000-sat buy from that dispenser now brings home both cards: one GLYPHALT and one Star Mint. The address is in the gallery, and you can check what's left on tokenscan before you send.
